Samuel Piccone is from Colorado. He is the author of Pupa, which was awarded Editors’ Choice in the 2017 Rick Campbell Chapbook Prize with Anhinga Press. He holds an MFA in poetry from North Carolina State University and an MA in writing and publishing from DePaul University. His poems have received awards from Grist’s ProForma Contest, the North Carolina State Poetry Contest and the Nazim Hikmet Poetry Contest. His work has received recognition and appeared or is forthcoming in several publications including, The Southeast Review, Passages North, Southern Indiana Review, Cutthroat, The Greensboro Review, The Mississippi Review, Flyway: Journal of Writing and Environment, American Literary Review, Blue Mesa Review, Grist, and The Pinch. Currently, he serves on the poetry staff at Raleigh Review, and teaches at Nevada State College in Henderson, Nevada.
